AI Use Case Lab

"Everyone here has an AI idea. I need to know which ones are worth building before we spend money on them."

Fixed priceWeeks per use caseCFO, COO or business line head

Context

Who it is for
Payments and fintech businesses with a list of AI ideas and no clear view of which ones are worth building.
Where it sits
AI Economics looks back at what the AI you already run has cost and returned. This engagement looks forward, at which new use cases are worth building.
Why me
I have taken an AI product to production myself, with hosting, a database, payments, and integrations with FreeAgent, Xero and WhatsApp. So I know how much work is left once a prototype looks finished.

Approach

First

Find

I work with your commercial and operations teams to identify where AI could save time or money. I also review the AI tools you already have and how much they're actually used.

Then

Frame

For each use case worth testing, we agree what it's worth, how we'll measure it and when we'd stop. I also check that the data is there, and set out which decision the tool supports and which rules it follows.

Then

Build or buy

We decide whether to use the AI features in software you already pay for, buy from a vendor or build your own. That decision comes down to cost against benefit at your volumes, and whether owning the tool is worth enough to you.

Finally

Prove and hand over

Where building is the right route, I build a prototype on your own numbers and run a short pilot with real users. The prototype runs on its own, outside your systems, so it doesn't need integration or sign-off from IT and infosec. You get the results as they come out, plus a specification your team or a vendor can build from.

Deliverables

Not included: the production build, integration with your systems, and running the tool once it is live. I am not tied to any model provider.

  • A ranked list of use cases, with what each one is worth
  • Success measures and a stop point for each pilot
  • A build, buy or stop recommendation, with cost against benefit at your volumes
  • Where building is right, a working prototype and pilot results
  • A specification your team or a vendor can build from

Terms

Fixed price per use case, agreed before the Find step starts. Or a monthly retainer, where I collect use cases from the commercial and operations teams, run each one through the same four steps, and compare new AI tools with what you already use. How I work →
